August 8th - WRIGHT PUMMELS FIELD WITH 6-IRON

Who says you need woods? Robert Wright paid no attention to that idea and had his own game plan on Saturday. Wright worked his way around the par-72 layout with mostly 6-irons off all the par-4 and par-5 holes. Combine the conservative play with clutch back nine putting, and Wright's 85 (NET 64) was able to outlast Paul Nicholls' birdie and eagle assault on Rivercrest. Nicholls blitzed the course making 2 eagles and 6 birdies on his way to a 64 (NET 65). Shawn Brown had his foot on first place, as well, but also came up a stroke short carding a 73 (NET 65). Rounding out the top-5 were Tyce Nicholls with a 93 (NET 66) and Chris Campbell with a 75 (NET 70).

With 3 events remaining, Tony Schaeffer's lead shrunk just a bit as Robert Wright's win moved him to second place with 3 events remaining. As we head down the homestretch, the courses get tougher and the leads become harder to hold. We'll see how it plays out!!
